CAPCO Video Contest
The Consumer Aerosol Products Council (CAPCO) is sponsoring a video contest to help provide a fresh view of today's aerosol package. Entries will be judged on creativity, humor, motivational effectiveness, content accuracy and production quality. Winners will receive prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250; and Selected videos will be posted on You Tube and may be used to promote an accurate perception of the aerosol package.

CAPCO Defends NoCFCs Label
The Consumer Aerosol Products Council (CAPCO) sent an email to ABC television producers expressing concern about the misleading negative perception that television viewers might have gained about aerosol products from a November 4th report on ABC's Good Morning America titled Are Green Products Worth the Money and asking ABC for more balanced reporting in the future.

Teachers are invited to use aerosol technology to teach science
CAPCO received more than 1,500 requests for its teacher's kit after posting an back-to-school invitation to use aerosol technology to teach science on the National Science teachers FaceBook page. CAPCO invited teachers to use the kit's "gelatin party activity" as a unique approach to teaching scientific principles. The gelatin party is one of 19 activities and experiments in the kit. Welcome to the Consumer Aerosol Products Council's (CAPCO) site. 

CAPCO is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accurate information about aerosol products.  Information on this site can be tailored to meet the particular needs of science teachers, consumers and the media by selecting the appropriate menu option. 

Science teachers will find information about aerosol technology that will enable them to teach scientific principles such as suspensions, the behavior of gases under pressure, gases as propellants and the effect of physical changes and chemical reactions.  A teachers kit with 19 classroom activities and experiments and a nine minute video can be downloaded from the site.   The kit was designed with the help of a panel of middle school teachers and meets all State Standards of Learning.

Consumers can learn about the unique benefits and environmental characteristics of the aerosol delivery system and learn about aerosol product technology.  The media will find environmental facts and the answers to frequently asked questions. 

Did you know that aerosol products have not contained ozone depleting chemicals for more than 30 years?  That's right, aerosol products do not harm the Earth's upper ozone.  Also, they are made up of 25% recycled material. Aerosol recycling also is available in many jurisdictions.
